Growing up, I thought the "American Dream" was the only way to quantify a successful life.Ā
In my eyes, I thought that meant:Ā
A high-paying job
Owning a big house
Getting married
Having a family
If I didn't check all four, I thought I was failure.Ā
Now that I'm an adult, I don't know if I'll ever want to achieve any of these milestones.
Nor do I want to.Ā
My ideal life looks something like this:Ā
Living in an apartment or tiny houseĀ
Being able to fit all my belongings in a luggage and carry onĀ
Working 100% remote and less than 30 hours a weekĀ
People think I hate money because I don't want to be rich. But I noticed these are often the same people who care about what others think of them.
If youāre ever worried about what others think of you, remember this quote:
We buy things we don't need, with money we don't have, to impress people we don't like.Ā
Have a jolly weekend,Ā
ChristineĀ
Hell yeah!! Btw, I love tiny houses :)
I think thereās a big difference between quality of life and āhaving moneyā. They arenāt mutually exclusive, but not many people manage to do both well.
Living a comfortable life with just enough money is worth much more than owning a big mansion in Chicago, a private jet and 5 ferraris...
