Tell Me About Yourself
Imagine sitting in front of your interviewer.
You're ready to spit fire all the reasons why you'd be the perfect candidate for your dream job. Until they throw you a curveball and ask:
Tell me about yourself.
I used to confidently tell interviewers who I was in an elevator pitch. But when the interviewer asked me who I was outside of work, I realized...
I let my professional career be my sole identity.
I used to tell people how I was in school for kinesiology because I'm passionate about working with strength enthusiasts, from beginners to competitive powerlifters.
But my career had no off switch. I became my classmate's encyclopedia for everything on strength training. I was the type of coach who had a laundry list of certifications and a CV as tall as me. Obsessed was an understatement... 😬
And you could tell at social gatherings... I had no clue what to talk about to people who weren't in the field. My last 2 boyfriends were powerlifters. So all we talked about was lifting while on our dates...to the gym 🙈
With Newsletter Adventure With Christine, I wanna share with you sides of me that most of my friends and family don't know about including how:
I got cut off an all you can eat chicken nugget event
I’ve coached a Special Olympics powerlifter without sight at a world championships
I landed a full time copywriting gig without any writing experience
I strained my neck eating a cinnamon bun…
