Rise and revitalize
Last Friday, I was catching up with one of my good friends, Mitch Jacobsen, the founder and CEO of Rviita —A natural energy tea drink company based in Canada. He invited me to Rviita HQ to give me a personal tour of how their company operates.
The experience was incredible.
What I love about Rviita is that they don’t do anything complex with their marketing. They focus on building genuine relationships and talking to the person in front of them as friends not customer #131313.
Since Day 1, they send handwritten notes with each order. They offer free samples and chat with people at several events in Calgary like powerlifting meets and marathons.
Here’s a photo of me, Mitch and his co-founder, Rob at the 2019 World Powerlifting Championships in Calgary.
(Before you ask, Mitch is 6’7 and I’m 5ft nothing).
Moral of the story, build rapport and referral with potential customers by being a genuine human first.
Building In Public
A couple of friends have asked me to create powerlifting programs for them. So I decided to create a new athlete dashboard to send with their program. Here’s a sneak peak👇

Never underestimate your abilities against your competitors, even if they are bigger, faster, and stronger.
✍️Writing:
I’ve been utilizing some of Troy Ericson’s resources like his free Email FAQ Answer document to help with our partner’s email deliverability.
Something as simple as segmenting our copywriting client's master email list (~16K subscribers) into two has resulted in improved open rates from ~ 6.0% → 24.0% and click rates from ~ 0.3% → 3.0% for the past few weeks.
By splitting the list into two, we were able to provide the readers with more specific niche topics. Such as one list about masterminds and another about crypto.
💫Life:
I’ve been slacking on my side projects and one friend said this to me: “If you can spend 8 hours a day working for someone else, you can spend ONE hour a day working on yourself”. Don’t forget, you have dreams too.
