Christine 2016 Would Be Jealous
When was the last time you reflected on the past 5 years of your life?
These past couple of weeks have been a little hectic. Every time I crossed one thing off the endless to-do list, another task would magically appear.
I didn't feel like my jolly self. I felt like I lost my spring in my step. So I reminded myself of 2016 Christine. The version of me who dreamed about having the life I have right now.
So I reflected on goals I wanted to achieve back in 2016, which includes:
✅Represent Team Canada at a powerlifting world championships
My 5-year-old self wanted to become an Olympic athlete. I'd say this is better.
✅Work 100% remote and do what I love
Over the past few years, I was an online strength coach who trained over 100+ competitive powerlifters and strength enthusiasts. Now, pivoting to being a full-time (Copy)writer and writing for 6 companies.
✅Save enough money to make a down payment on a house
Ok, the original goal was to fully pay off a house by 30. But at 25, I realized I'd want to travel and see the world before "adulting" 😂
I'm sharing these wins with you not to brag (actually, Christine 2016 would be hella jealous). But a reminder to reflect on your progress. Sometimes you don't realize how far you've gone until you reflect.
This week, I wrote an email to my future self (5 years from now) on FutureMe.org (not affiliated). A free platform (for the first 20 emails) that allows you to send emails to your future self.
I love the concept because I always lose my journals. With FutureMe, my future self will receive an email (I've even set a calendar reminder to check spam haha). So a little harder to lose the message 😅
Give FutureMe a go, I'm sure your future self will be interested in reading what you have to say 🤗
